Week of Action - Fight Against “America 250”

Fight 250 Years of Exploitation, Plunder, and Terror! US Out of Everywhere!

July 4th, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States of America. For those 250 years, the working and oppressed peoples of the world have struggled against enslavement and genocide at the hands of the US. The legacy of the US has been defined by war, resource extraction and forced migration from its neocolonies. To this day, it continues to uphold monopoly capitalist rule through violent repression, counterinsurgency, and fascist violence. Workers, migrants, oppressed nationalities, and people of the Global South have fought U.S. war and plunder since the genocidal founding of the country and are amassing strength to win their sovereignty and liberation from US imperialism.

Two propaganda initiatives representing different factions of the ruling class are set up to commemorate 250 years of the US. America 250 is a "non-partisan" initiative first set up in 2016, budgeted tens of millions by Congress, and represents largely liberal bourgeois interests, promoting charity donations while whitewashing the US's legacy. Trump's "Freedom 250" is the outright reactionary version, led by cabinet members, promoting "patriotism," "prayer," and "freedom." Both America 250 and Freedom 250 are sponsored by major multinational corporations representing oil, weapons, banking, and other destructive industries eager to peddle false narratives of American exceptionalism and "innovation" through media and celebratory events.

While readying for these imperialist festivities, Trump has continued the tradition of lies to deceive the public and initiate a war on Iran, kidnap Venezuelan President Maduro, and tighten its stranglehold on Cuba and Palestine. All of these acts of aggression amount to trillions of dollars taken away from public services such as access to reproductive healthcare, SNAP benefits, and education especially as Trump is demanding to raise the already monstrous defense budget from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion, the highest in history. These wars of aggression are only serving to enrich the ruling class and especially weapons manufacturers, big tech, and AI corporations. In 2026: Anduril received a $20 billion contract with the US military, Scale AI received a $500 million contract with the Department of War, and Boeing secured contracts worth over $700 million with the Air Force. The CEOs of weapons corporations and their benefactors reap record profits and sit alongside Trump, in their strategic class alliance of monopoly capitalists.

The working people are feeling the brunt of the neglect and the greed of this administration. LGBTQ (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer) people across the country are experiencing the shrinking of their rights and protections and an increase in hate related crimes as far as murder. Migrants and refugees are in situations of being constantly surveilled, fearing being thrown into concentration camps we know as detention centers, even when it was the US that was responsible for their forced migration, like in the case of the Lao people that are being systematically targeted by ICE. Trump's One Big Beautiful Act (OBBA) has left millions of Americans without healthcare, with instances of having to ration lifesaving medications such as insulin leading to death. This country has long exposed itself for being soulless and indifferent to the genuine needs of its people.

Amidst Trump's heightening fascist attacks, imperialist war, and criminal corruption, the contradictions endemic to monopoly capitalism are revealing its most severe cracks. The imperialists will attempt to clamor around the 250th anniversary of the US and parade the military to project narrow-nationalist strength, but the people's calls for justice must ring louder and expose the true nature of the rotten system. On the 250th anniversary of the US, ILPS-US calls for a National Week of Action against the #1 Imperialist terrorist & the biggest plunderer on this planet, including Trump himself.

During this National Week of Action, we commemorate the 57th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a historic rebellion of the LGBTQ working class against state repression. Pride was a protest and started in the streets through the collective resistance of queer people against their oppressors. And in 2026, as Trump's fascist attacks rise against the LGBTQ community, it is clear that the struggle for queer liberation is not separate from the struggle against US imperialism.

As struggles for national liberation advance to break the chains of US imperialist domination, the US is intensifying its plunder and militarization of their land through initiatives like Pax Silica to gain technological dominance to enforce its economic and military hegemony. Pax Silica is the Trump regime's newest neoconservative initiative to regain control over the entire semiconductor supply chain directly flowing from the National Security Strategy to ensure US imperialist interests are reinforced. Resources plundered from the Global South are manufactured into the weapons targeting the enemies of US imperialism, paid for in billions by US taxpayers. As part of targeting Trump and the imperialist system itself, this week of action calls on the people to oppose US-led war and plunder by targeting the weapons, AI, and tech companies profiting off war and the plunder of the Global South that upholds US imperialist domination.

Join our week of action as we raise the call “Fight 250 Years of Exploitation, Plunder, and Terror! US Out of Everywhere!”

From the West Coast to the East, our ILPS members and allies rallied on July 4th to protest exploitation, plunder, and terror by the US on its 250th birthday. Communities from all walks of life came out to take up the fight against US imperialism -- Indigenous, workers, migrants and youth, progressive veterans, healthcare workers, women and LGBTQ+ -- we all showed up to build the peoples resistance against war profiteers and US-led war!

  • We staged a rally outside the White House to call out the hypocrisy of America @ 250 and its legacy of exploitation and violence against communities both abroad and within the U.S. The rally built on a Peace Forum where community members from across the DC-Maryland-Virginia area united around concrete campaigns and next steps to strengthen our movements - including the continuing fight for justice for Las Madres Unidas en la Lucha (migrant mothers from Central America), for Lockheed out of our communities, for an end to police terror in our communities, and to build solidarity between people's movements fighting for liberation from imperialism and war across the Global South!

  • In New York, we demanded the release of Venezuelan President Maduro and Cilia Flores. Our members are also building up fights against Korean company Hanwha Philly Shipyard located in Philadelphia’s navy yard which manufactures warships and maritime submarines, bringing nuclear materials into the city and contaminating local water and food. Cerberus Capital Management, a private equity firm based in NYC, is also a target as it acquired land in Subic Bay in the Philippines and colludes with the Marcos regime and the U.S. Armed forces to build an ammunition/arms manufacturing depot as a forward base against China.

  • Seattle-Tacoma and Portland descended on Joint Base Lewis McChord military base and denounced the economic plunder, warmongering, and violence enacted by the U.S. against nations all over the world while calling for the taking on of all war profiteers in Washington, from Anduril to Boeing!

  • Southern California mobilized to San Diego - a launching pad for US imperialist advances of militarism and fascism across the world. The region is wrought with US military and naval operations as a center for the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) war exercises and for war manufacturers. It is used to enforce the US-Mexico border and Trump’s increasing ICE attacks against migrants.

After over 400 years, US imperialism continues to plunder our homelands, deliberately destabilizing regions, propping up puppet-governments, and violently suppressing people’s liberation movements; in Palestine, Venezuela, Cuba, the Philippines, Iran, Lebanon, and beyond. Let us continue to uplift the calls, demands, and leadership of the working masses to build and grow the anti-imperialist united front! Join ILPS and our members as we continue connecting workers’ struggles and community issues on the local and national level to taking up the fight against US-led war!
