Points of Unity
1 We unite to confront and oppose the Trump/U.S.-led Pax Silica Initiative in its competition with China to dominate the AI/tech supply chain at the expense of the people of the world and the environment.
This competition is exacerbating wars in Asia Pacific, West Asia, and Eastern Europe, and spreading U.S.-led military aggression and intervention in Palestine, Venezuela, Iran, and Cuba. The Pax Silica initiative drives forward a renewed attack on sovereignty to control land and resources like oil and critical minerals. The Pax Silica is a losing deal for the peoples of the world and the environment, and will not bring genuine development. We oppose the US government and all governments that facilitate the further violations of national sovereignty, quell the people’s aspirations for self-determination wherever it is implemented.
2 We unite to expose and fight back against the for-profit scheme of Pax Silica, and its corporate backers which will only bring more exploitation, repression and war on the peoples of the world to benefit the wealthy elite.
Pax Silica will intensify and expand U.S. militarism and the war economy, escalating the race to dominate the artificial intelligence supply chain, especially for surveillance and weapons technology, to reap super profits. We oppose the diversion of public resources and national budgets to the military industrial complex and to AI/tech monopoly corporations while workers and families continue to suffer from mass layoffs, declining wages, and government neglect.
3 We strive to build unity between the working class and peoples’ struggles in the U.S. and in countries who are most impacted by Pax Silica.
We especially uplift national liberation struggles and peoples’ movements in the global south, like in the Philippines, Korea and Palestine, as well as the struggles of indigenous peoples, farmers, and land defenders against land-grabbing, extraction, and forced displacement. Together with struggles of working peoples’ throughout the world, we commit to wage campaigns to stop Pax Silica and the related AI/tech projects impacting our workplaces and communities.
4 We unite to protect the environment against the impacts of Pax Silica and the proliferation of AI data centers.
We oppose the stealing of indigenous peoples’ ancestral domain; the impacts of large-scale mining like deforestation, soil degradation, toxic runoff, landslides and flooding; and the air pollution and high consumption of water and electricity of mega-data centers in countries and communities that barely have the infrastructure to sustain and develop the majority of its population.
5 We fight for genuine freedom, and support the advance of peoples’ struggles for national liberation from foreign domination which stunts genuine economic development.
We promote building economies which serve the interests of the people, preserve the resources and land, and expand the livelihood and wellbeing of working people. We uphold the peoples’ just struggle for the land they work, control of the resources in the interests of society as a whole, genuine development, and an end to government corruption which steals from and sells out the people.
6 We promote mass-oriented science and technology, culture and education, for the people. We support the fight of workers, scientists, artists, educators, engineers, and all sectors to develop society for the benefit of all working people.
We support the fight of artists and indigenous peoples to preserve cultural heritage and practice. We oppose the usage of artificial intelligence and technology which degrade the people and culture and propagate lies which reinforce the current system.
