Stand with Striking Starbucks Workers! People over Profit!

On July 31st at 7am, Starbucks workers at the Georgetown store in Seattle walked out on strike. Management had been severely understaffing the store, failing to distribute tips on time, leaving dangerous floor damage unaddressed, and engaging in union busting practices. When management decided to suddenly close the store for repairs without a plan for workers’ lost wages, baristas had enough.

Across the country, the strike movement is brewing. The Georgetown baristas are part of a national effort by Starbucks workers to win a fair contract - a contract that addresses chronic understaffing, insufficient wages, and more.

As a major international corporation, whose CEO makes $96 million a year, 6000x more than the average barista, Starbucks has more than enough to pay their workers a fair wage and ensure safe working conditions.

ILPS US stands in solidarity with Starbucks workers in their fight for rights and livelihood. Their struggle is a beacon for all workers organizing to fight corporate power, plunder, and exploitation.
