ILPS-US invites all people and allies to our Advance the Peoples' Struggle Political Conference, Mass March & Rally! Under deepening economic crisis, fascism, and wars, ILPS’ Conference, March & Rally are more important than ever to deepen our bonds across organizations, understand the political situation, and strengthen our shared fight for genuine social and economic justice. It will be an opportunity for these fights to converge nationally in Northern California in a mass action to demonstrate the strength and vibrancy of the anti-imperialist mass movement in the face of rising fascism.
The ILPS US’ Political Conference will take place on Sunday May 31st. We’ll end the day with a cultural solidarity night and continue on with a Mass March & Rally on Monday June 1st. The political conference will feature speakers and workshops from different movements sharing lessons, victories, and challenges from their experiences organizing to get ICE out of their communities, fighting back against war profiteers, and uplifting workers struggles against exploitation and repression.
We must seize this time of crisis to strike at US imperialism and to build the anti-imperialist and anti-fascist united front – one such way is through waging our interlinking campaigns: Defend Peoples Struggle and People Over Profit.
The 3rd National Assembly (3NA) is an internal assembly of ILPS-US’ membership that will be held on Saturday May 30th regarding matters of the ILPS alliance such as elections, general plan of action, etc.
What are ILPS-US’ campaigns?
ILPS-US wages country wide campaigns to unite the fights of grassroots organizations on the ground – they are rooted in the day to day fights based on the urgent issues the masses are facing. They are a mechanism to unite these disparate struggles into cohesive, national campaigns which target the imperialist system. The Defend Our Communities, Defend People’s Struggle campaign coordinates struggles against fascism, racism, repression, and war nationwide, asserting the rights of peoples to resist and to organize and for those abroad to fight for their sovereignty. Local and national manifestations of the DPS campaign are fights against racist policing, against the funding of genocide and US war, for migrants defense, against union busting, and against the rise of transphobia and homophobia. People Over Profit, on the other hand, unites fights for just wages, healthcare, education, and dignified livelihood. It brings together those fighting for livelihood to expose the roots of the economic crisis as monopoly capitalism/imperialism, and to nationalize the struggle for genuine economic justice. In addition to joining the 3rd National Assembly, organizations are encouraged to share what anti-fascist and economic struggles they are waging at the local and national levels with ILPS, and to discuss how they can relate to these campaigns! Organizations are also invited to sign onto the campaigns at the links above. The 3NA will be an opportunity for these fights to converge nationally in Northern California in a mass action to demonstrate the strength and vibrancy of the anti-imperialist mass movement in the face of rising fascism. It will also be a venue to share lessons, victories, and challenges across organizations and movements. While fascism is on the rise, the struggles of workers, strikes, militant student movements, and national liberation movements are rising too. ILPS’ role is to link these mass struggles in a united fight against fascism and imperialism – we must take up the call to fight for a just future, and deepen our ties across movements!
